FROM INTERVIEW WITH "GRAPPLING" MAGAZINE FEB. 2006

Q.- GRAPPING-- After Abu Dahbi, you told us that desire plays a huge role in success. Where does desire come from and how do you maintain that when you are tired or when your opponent is on the attack and agressive?

A. --JAKE-- Everyone has something he wants to do or be. The question is how hard are you willing to work to get it done. My desire is to be the best fighter in the world. It drives me to the gym every day and pushes me to train until I'm drained, and that's what keeps me going when the pressure is on. The toughest opponent is yourself. If you push as hard as you can in training, there is no way you're going to quit on yourself when it gets tough. Put in the work and you won't break.
